Say it isn't so. State Sen. Shawn Mitchell had his secret after-hours security code revoked by Capitol police after they learned he had given it to members of a class he was teaching. But who needs a code when the system is already so broken that anyone can get in?

"When state Sen. Shawn Mitchell, R-Broomfield, stepped to the microphone Tuesday, fellow senators let out an audible groan.

Mitchell had, the night before, gone on a three-hour, one-man (but ultimately unsuccessful) filibuster against a bill that would effectively limit state funding to school districts that vote to re-adopt Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights revenue restraints. He read the entirety of the bill out loud, read state Supreme Court opinions and otherwise ad-libbed his way hoarse trying to stall the decision on the bill."
