Markey, Salazar down to the wire on 'cap and trade'
June 26, 2009Dick Wadhams, chairman of the Colorado Republican Party, had harsh words for U.S. Reps. Betsy Markey and John Salazar, who have been silent about whether they support the “Cap and Trade” proposal, which will be voted on in Congress today.
“It’s time for these two gutless Democrats to take a side for Colorado families and small business by opposing ‘Cap and Tax’ job losses, higher taxes and higher energy costs,” Wadhams said in a release Thursday afternoon.

April 17, 2009Colorado's U.S. Representatives requested over $1 billion in appropriations funding, commonly known as earmarks, in early April. Although the earmarks have not yet gone through final approval, Rep. John Salazar, D-Manassa, was the most aggressive of the state's seven Congressional representatives, requesting 72 of the total 174 earmarks sought, for a total of $235,087,284.

April 16, 2009Members of Colorado's Congressional delegation have released their requests for federal appropriations funding, commonly called earmarks. Of Colorado's seven representatives, six, excluding Rep. Mike Coffman, an Aurora Republican, requested earmarks totaling over $1 billion, half of which were transportation requests for the Regional Transportation District and the Colorado Department of Transportation.
