Unions to help craft state's use of stimulus education cash

As the Colorado Department of Education prepares to spend $900 million allocated under the nation's $787 billon Recovery and Reinvestment Act, it is working with the state's most powerful education unions and organizations "to ensure that communication related to the Recovery Act is consistent." The team will be in charge of communicating with Gov. Bill Ritter's office and the U.S. Department of Education on a daily basis about the allocation of stimulus funds relating to the state's schools.
