11/26: Don't speak ill of the ski area!

Don't speak out against your favorite ski area, or you might just lose your pass!

More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.

The Durango Herald reports on the unfortunate case of Lauren Slaff, who had the audacity to call out the Purgatory ski area for what she believes are unfair changes to their winter schedule. In response, the company revoked her pass. To be clear, I believe in freedom of association. And so does the Forest Service, which says the company is within its rights to refund Slaff's pass. But that doesn't excuse Purgatory's knee-jerk overreaction to a little public criticism. Should Purgatory lose its lease? No, but management might want to consider growing a thicker skin. In the meantime, watch out next time you speak ill of your favorite ski area. Lucky for Slaff, Telluride is happy to have her.

I'm Brad Jones.
