11/16: Tancredo eyes the guv's mansion
Former Congressman Tom Tancredo says he'll run for Governor. But can he win?
More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.
You probably know of Tom Tancredo, the former congressman from the 6th congressional district who made immigration reform his hallmark issue. Like him or hate him, you likely have a gut reaction when hearing his name. His post-congressional career has been a mix of behind-the-scenes politicking, policy work and oh, yeah, a run for President too. With the unfortunate departure of state Sen. Josh Penry from the race last week, Tancredo is likely to pick up support from Republicans reticent to support rival Scott McInnis. I can't say I see either man winning if the election were held today, but there's a lot of time before next November. Tancredo at least gives primary voters a new and very different option.
