A CU student is vindicated, but not before having his name drug through the mud by school administrators.
More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.
David Williams is the former president of the student government at CU-Colorado Springs. He's a social conservative opposed to gay marriage. So when a campus group promoting gay rights wanted event funding, Williams passed on signing the appropriation. Instead, he allowed the legislation to go into effect without his signature.
That landed him in hot water with CU's thought police, and administrators admonished him for a violation of their Orwellian policy regarding "viewpoint neutrality." If an elected student leader can't express his personal views, why have a student body president at all?
To be clear, I don't agree with Williams' stance, but the way he was treated is shameful. CU recently reversed its official censure, but the damage was already done.
