State Sen. John Morse is fighting for your soul, whether you like it or not.
More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.
Gov. Bill Ritter last week signed legislation that opens the door to runaway government spending. In short, he did away with a rule that capped government growth at 6% every year.
State Sen. John Morse, a Colorado Springs Democrat, hailed the legislation as a step toward totally revamping Colorado's budget. "This is a fight for the soul of Colorado and it's just beginning," he said. Pardon me if I'm not really interested in his flavor of salvation.
His plan is simple: First, eliminate the only remaining barrier to government growth, the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights. Then, make taxes more "fair." Take a wild guess at what that part means.
Sorry, Sen. Morse, but we're not joining the fight.
