6/5: No love between unions, Ritter

Will big labor stand to back Gov. Bill Ritter for re-election?

More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.

For months, Face The State has been chronicling Gov. Bill Ritter’s growing vulnerability in 2010. He has alienated power brokers within his own party after his failure to show leadership on key issues. He vetoed union-payback bills, and his appointment of the largely unknown Michael Bennet to the U.S. Senate has some scratching their heads.

Now, a group calling itself Labor Initiatives Against Ritter — or LIAR — has filed the paperwork needed begin raising money against him. The move follows Ritter’s recent veto of a bill that would have extended unemployment benefits to locked-out union workers.

With the veto, Ritter is now vulnerable to a challenge within the Democrat party. Whoever decides to step up and take on the incumbent governor might find a friendly base of support in organized labor.

For FaceTheState.com, I'm Brad Jones.

About Ritter

Mr. Jones...need I remind you again...its the DEMOCRATIC Party...not the Democrat Party! Surely you don't want to be associated with Rush Limpaw...???
