Is Governor Ritter taking credit for creating your job?

More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.

Thanks to Vincent Carroll of the Rocky Mountain News for pointing out this latest piece of political nonsense. Gov. Bill Ritter was recently quoted as saying his “new energy economy” policies are responsible for the creation of over 90,000 jobs. If he’s that good at job creation, why isn’t he off making millions in the private sector?

But I digress. 90,000 jobs? That’s more than the number of public safety personnel in the entire state. The numbers just don’t add up.

But when there’s a political point to be made, a study can be molded to prove it. The lefty American Solar Energy Society worked up the data with Ritter’s office, and jobs like insulation installers and hybrid-car salesmen are all included.

Nevermind job creation – what really matters is taking the credit, even if it’s totally undeserved.
