While the mainstream media successfully positioned Ron Paul's presidential bid as a nut magnet for a diverse coalition that included everyone from unstable anti-war activists to home schooling families, Paul may be getting the last laugh.

As CNN reports, the Texas Congressman's book, "The Revolution: A Manifesto," is currently No. 1 on Amazon's best sellers' list.

The CNN blog notes: "Ron Paul’s loyal supporters helped him set campaign fundraising records and capture more delegates during his presidential run than some of his high-profile Republican rivals. They even managed to briefly shut down Nevada’s GOP convention earlier this month over a rules change controversy."

And as Face The State reported in February, Paul managed to outshine then-front runner Mitt Romney, garnering a larger crowd when both appeared in Denver on the same day.

While Paul's ideas may be too revolutionary for the White House, the effect is clear. As Amazon notes in its book description, "Candidates across America are already running as 'Ron Paul Republicans.'"
