Last week, the Rocky ran a front-page story describing the contents of an internal democrat memo detailing a $12 million plan to influence the Presidential, Senate and CD-4 races this year. But what's better than a story about a memo? The memo itself! View the spending plan and cover letter, and draw your own conclusions about the lengths to which the left will go to ensure victory for big government.

There's something sweetly ironic about a group called "Coloradans for Fairness and Equality" planning a "Foot on Throat" campaign.
The political context for that spending is worth a closer look, too, especially in light of recent carping from the left about CU Prez finalist Bruce Benson's involvement in political "527" groups. No serious observer believes the left's web-outrage shops would be similarly concerned if former CSU President and Pat Stryker strategy man Al Yates were tapped to lead CU instead of Benson. Vincent Carroll at the Rocky gets a thumbs-up for pointing out that blatant bit of hypocrisy - but don't look for a retraction from Michael Huttner & Co. anytime soon.
But as we've editorialized previously, what should be most concerning to Colorado democrats is the extent to which the far-left has taken complete control of the party agenda. With community leaders extolling the grassroots virtues of the caucus system ahead of tonight's partisan get-togethers, it makes sense to ask who's really calling the shots in the democrat party.
