Someone give Denver Post photographer Kathryn Scott Osler a gold star. Her front page photo of Gov. Bill Ritter at a Monday press conference (JPEG) had fans of the animated series The Simpsons doing a double-take: Is that "Mr. Burns"?

Forget Don Elliman, the just-hired Chief Operating Officer for state government - Ritter is now channeling the "excellent" management skills of fictional nuclear energy kingpin C. Montgomery Burns. Except, what would he think of Ritter's "New Energy Economy"? Burns did build a machine capable of blocking out the sun, so he may not be well-disposed to solar power.
But seriously, the likeness is uncanny. We're glad to know the Post photo desk has a sense of humor. And it's not the first time Ritter has found himself emulating his favorite Hollywood characters: last year he was doing his best George Clooney on a junket to the Arctic Circle.
