The Colorado Democracy Alliance wants you!

Looking for a job? The Colorado Democracy Alliance is hiring.

CoDA, a Denver coalition that helps rich liberal donors funnel money into Colorado political organizations, including campaigns, is looking for a new "coordinator," with responsibilities to include fundraising, membership communications and, of course, coordinating political activities undertaken by various "progressive" causes. See the job posting here (PDF).

Any qualified career counselor will say it's important to profile any organization you're interested in before applying. But how are applicants to know if they possess "an interest in the mission and goals of the Colorado Democracy Alliance" if that information is so closely guarded? Lucky for you, Face The State is here to help.

FTS was first to publish detailed information about CoDA and its operations in an explosive investigative feature released last fall, and the documents may just help eager applicants in demonstrating that extra bit of effort in understanding their future employer. If this organizational chart outlining the group's structure is any indication, CoDA staff exert a great deal of influence in providing "funding reccomendations" to strategists and key money-men (and women, with all due respect to power-liberals Pat Stryker and Linda Shoemaker).

Successful job candidates will also possess "political savvy and smarts" and "strong analytical skills." That might normally go without saying - given the job and employer - but after a leaked CoDA memo detailed a campaign to target "idiots" (defined as including minorities and high school drop-outs), they're likely seeking a candidate who knows not to pursue such nonsense. Or, at the very least, knows that memorializing such horrible things in writing in the future would be a big mistake.

Interested in working for Colorado's most powerful, shadowy political organization? Hurry up - the deadline is this Friday. E-mail jobs@democracycolorado.com.
