Colorado WINS bans biggest LOSER

David Ohmart, state employee and self-proclaimed "biggest loser" behind the blog Colorado LOSES, has been nothing but a nuisance for state employee union Colorado WINS. In February, WINS intimidated Ohmart into silence at its Capitol lobbying day and now Ohmart says one of WINS' leaders has taken it up a notch, banning him from all future WINS events.

According to Ohmart's Web site, WINS organizer Ryan Webber told one of Ohmart's colleagues and "fellow loser" Don Schultz that Ohmart is barred from future WINS events. Webber is the same WINS employee who previously intimidated Ohmart into silence at the Capitol lobbying day.

"They are scared of me, plain and simple," Ohmart told Face the State in an e-mail. "They are afraid of the truth getting out and me crushing their attempt to grow and take over."

Although there has not been a WINS event since this development, Ohmart did his research and told Face the State that WINS can legally keep him out of its events.

"They continue to say they represent 32,000 employees," said Ohmart. "How can they do that when they only have 1,900 members and won't let anyone else attend their meetings?"

Ohmart isn't alone in his desire to not be represented by WINS, and hopefully enough LOSERS can pull together to help expose the strong arm techniques of a union purporting to improve the lives of Colorado's public employees.

Colorado WINS and Ryan Webber did not return multiple requests for comment.
