Just one month ago, we found ourselves asking: Where is Andrew Romanoff? Not to worry, we've found the Denver Democrat. In its March newsletter, the School of Public Affairs at UC Denver announced that former Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff is its newest faculty addition and "Scholar-in-Residence."
Romanoff was once considered the rising star of the Democratic party in Colorado, which is why most were surprised to see Ritter leave him behind when filling openings for Secretary of State and U.S. Senator. Since then, there has been much speculation about the future of Romanoff's career, including the possibility that he will challenge Michael Bennet in a 2010 primary for U.S. Senate.
Since earning his law degree from the University of Denver last fall, Romanoff has been largely absent from Colorado politics. Maybe his work on "various civic engagement initiatives" at UC Denver will help to build up his criteria for Ritter's next Democrat job-fest. Maybe he was just busy studying for February's bar.
