It has been a good week for freshman Congressman Jared Polis, a Boulder Democrat.

Since being elected in November, Polis has been appointed to the House Rules Committee, the Committee on Education and Labor and the Democratic Steering Committee. And while the proposed federal stimulus package he voted for has been all over the news, Polis has been getting a different type of ink these days.
He is one of two legislators selected to be part of CNN’s “Freshman Year” feature, a series that will follow Polis and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican, as they get oriented in Congress. Polis is hyped as a gay Boulder Democrat.
Next, Polis was named one of the hottest congressional freshmen by the lefty's beloved Huffington Post, which notes fun facts about him including that he is the “founder of ProFlowers.com and the first openly gay man elected to the House as a freshman.” The Huffington Post is also running a poll in its site that asks readers to weigh in on the top five hottest congressional freshman. Polis currently ranks third.
With so much focus on Polis' sexuality, who has time to talk policy? And who needs eHarmony when you've got friends like this in the media to create your own personal dating service?
