With business interests pushing a "right to work" initiative this fall, labor bosses have responded with a volley of five potential ballot questions designed to tie the hands of business owners and increase labor costs. Gov. Bill Ritter, a Democrat, wants both sides to just hold hands get along. Here's FTS cartoonist Milton's take.
I don't feel sorry anymore

Hey, thanks for pointing that out to us. Now I don’t feel sorry for the little mongoose critter anymore. But you didn’t explain why the governor shouldn’t step in to help protect working people represented by the snake from the big business mongoose who must be protecting billionaires. Who else could the mongoose possibly care for?
You are not suggesting that big business is protecting working people from labor unions - are you!?!? Or worse yet, you’re not suggesting that big business and billionaires need protection by the government (represented by Gov. Ritter in this cartoon) from a few people (remember, unions are not that strong anymore according to the mongooses and right wing media) who just want a decent job with some healthcare and a retirement pension after 30 plus years of work?

WeNeedTheTruth,
Perhaps traditional stories of good versus evil have escaped liberal, left-wing, moral relativists like yourself. Had you been the recipient of say some culture while growing up you might know that the artist or author is referring to the Rudyard Kipling short story, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the story about a valiant mongoose (not a squirrel) who saves a boy from two murderous cobras. The analogy you drew about a cobra striking a cuddly squirrel might have been apt if you had actually understood what you were talking about...which you don't. The mongoose may appear cuddly but it is the venomous cobra's natural predator. Some species, such as the Indian mongoose, are popularly used to fight and kill venomous snakes, even king cobras. They are able to do this because of their agility and cunning, and their thick coat. Stupid liberals like you should be ashamed of themselves. One: because you are stupid, and two: because you are a liberal; you stupid liberal.
I feel sorry for the little squirrel critter

You know what is so interesting about is cartoon. FTS keeps telling us that unions are weak and on the way out. They don’t have any clout and the “taxpayers” (FTS Translation: Big Business) doesn’t want them. If that is true, why are unions portrayed in the cartoon as a powerful and deadly snake ready to strike at some cute little cuddly multi-national corporation? I feel sorry for that little squirrel like multi-national. It’s just not fair that they keep getting beat down by unions. We should help them get rid of that nasty old snake. Then the cute little squirrel critter multi-national will be free to provide really good jobs here in Colorado. The little squirrel critter loves working people… right?
