Cheers erupted at Colorado's mountain casinos at 12:01 am Thursday as higher limits, new table games and 24-hour gaming became reality following passage of Amendment 50 last year. Voters in Black Hawk, Cripple Creek and Central City quickly thereafter voted to exercise their new constitutional options, bringing a flavor of Las Vegas to the high country.
Face The State's cameras were clicking away as the crowd counted down the seconds to the first roll of the dice, ceremoniously thrown at Black Hawk's Isle Casino by actor Michael Winslow of "Police Academy" fame. See the craps and roulette action in Face The State's slideshow, below, and tune in to the next FTS Weekend Edition for a full report of the night's festivities.
